Life goes on:
My Gran drove me back home today. It’s been 2 weeks since the fires and I’ve been missing my home and especially my parents. There was nothing left except my old ragged tree house sitting at the top of an oak tree. I climbed up and of course Gran said, “Be careful darling!” I sat inside imagining the memories I had were really happening. The times when mum would play tea parties with me and dad would play builders were the best memories of my life. All these fond memories brought a tear to my eye. I jumped up suddenly with an idea. My parents had always told me to be independent so I decided to take it on board. I climbed down the ladder fast but also making sure I don’t fall. I ran over to Gran and told her my idea. “Can I live in the tree house from now on?” Gran starred at the ground for a moment then looked up with a smile. “ Of course as long as you are 100% ok with that”. I hugged Gran tightly and then ran to the car. “Come on let’s get going because I want to move in today, please!” Gran reluctantly walked over to the car. She got in and drove back to her house to get my belongings. No long after we arrived back at the tree house. That was my home from now on and I was proud of it.

Frogs:
The frogs habitat is in or near ponds. This is because frogs spawn in water. Frogs lay their eggs in the water. Frogs eggs are layed in clumps. Toads also lay their eggs in water. Toad’s eggs are laid in string. The eggs hatch out into tiny tadpoles which cling to the pond weed. The tadpoles grow larger and breathe through feather-like external gills o the side of it’s head. They eat the alge in the pond and other vegetable matter. They are also carnivorous and will eat

Class food fight:
As I step foot into the laboratory gravy streams past my face and splats onto Siobhans face. Hot pies fly through the air as I try and dodge my way to the other side of the room. As I past halfway spaghetti runs through my hair and falls onto Georgia’s feet. Elke sits sobbing in the corner as the ‘popular boys’ “accidently” drop a runny poached egg on her lap.
Ahhhhhhhh I said as I spilt all the cold ham sandwiches all over the floor. I screamed at Siobhan and said “What am I going to do with all this mess? I was horrified
Monica’s (my nan) Biography
On the 3rd of June 1994 at Ballarat private hospital, Norwood a little baby girl was born and they named her Monica Katherine. Monica grew up on a farm and they used to milk the cows and make their own milk and cream. Her mum also used to make butter. Monica went to primary school at St Michael’s Springbank, she used to walk to school which was 1.6 km away. In those times they went to year 8 at primary school. Monica went to high school at Loretto, Ballarat. She would catch a bus and it would take 45 minutes to get there. She lived in Claretown on 45 acres.
Some great memories of Monica’s life are when she had her children and then when she got grandchildren. She loves watching her grandchildren grow up and go to all their special occasions. Family is a big part of Monica’s life. When she was younger she did Irish dancing at Geraldine O’Shea dance Company and played basketball for Springbank on a Sunday afternoon. They used to play the surrounding districts.
Some of Monica’s achievements are doing voluntary work for sick and old people. Also When she worked she was a cleaning supervisor for a conference centre. She won an award for being the best employee. Some places Monica has been overseas include, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Paris, Italy and Prague. Her favourite one was Ireland because that’s were her family originated from.
Monica has only ever lived in Victoria. If she had to live somewhere else it would be Eucha or Moama. Monica’s ancestors are from Ireland. She was born in Australia and so were her parents but her grandparents were born in Ireland. Some of her favourite things are animals, reading and she especially loves her family and grandchildren.
Text Analysis
Stop, Think, Respect-Discrimination:
Text to self:
This video made me feel sad, angry and frustrated. I don’t get why people would do such a thing. The problem is that we are all way to selfish and have nothing else to worry about. If someone does a kind thing for you then you should give something back. They are the owners of this land and the deserve the right to be treated as equal as us.
Text to world:
I think that the world is being mean to too may people. We are all getting slack on our manners, respect and kindness. Nobody cares about anyone but themselves. At least this video shows the someone cares about hose no being treated fairly.
Text to Text:
This video reminds me of a story I have read that is about the first settlers coming to Australia and invading their land without respecting the people who own it. This disrespect has not stopped happening since they arrived and I believe it has to stop now and forever. We should always go by the saying ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover’.
Creation story Reflection:
I think I did well in getting it finished and ready for presentation because I didn’t stress about getting it done. I think what I could improve on next time is doing more work at school rather then leaving it for homework over the holidays (time management). I could of also done a little bit more work so that I am challenging myself. I think what I did well was putting everything into my own words and making it sound child friendly. I think I also did well by making 3 Venn diagrams that were very detailed. I learnt that many creation stories are similar and there is one person who creates everything. I also learnt that even though the Islamic and genesis stories are made for different religions they are very similar in the structure of the story and the words they say.
Snapshot stories:
Saying good bye to our friends:
We saw flashing lights in the sky as we arrived at the airport. Taxis filled the lanes. We pulled over onto one off the drop off lanes, let our friends out and then helped them with their baggage. Lights were everywhere, it was like the sun had risen early. We said our goodbyes as the tears ran down our faces. Then they slowly dragged their feet into the terminal. We hopped back in the car and struggled through the peak our traffic until we were home.
Maleficent:
On the holidays I went to the village cinemas to see the astonisioning movie ‘Maleficent’. It was probably the best movie i’ve ever seen because it was very exciting, scary and you don’t know what is going to happen next. It was so real that it was like it was happening right in front of me. The movie was a fantasy come alive.
